Happy New Year wishes to relatives, friends, parties all over, fun filled blessing and lot more, it is what we must do after shocking and shivering issues!!!, can't understand how we can forget about the one who wakes us after her lifetime sleep . Some of the facts which must be known to us are: She was a physiotherapy intern who was so brave that she was fighting for her life for thirteen days after the incident of her rape. A brief description does no harm to us.
What really happen is that she with a male companion goes out for a movie, after watching a film in South Delhi in the early evening, she and male companion boarded a bus being driven as a "joyride", thinking it was a public bus. The only other passengers were five men who were friend of Bus driver and after some time they beat up male companion and throw him out of the bus and later they gang raped that innocent girl in moving bus as brutally they can and according to print media and electronic media, later they inserted a rod into her vagina which in turn affect her intestine and stomach much and further threw her away from moving bus.
She was there on road for approx 30 min and no one came up for the help, later one of the person hanged around there called the police and she was then shifted to Safdarganj hospital, where she was under treatment for 12 days and then shifted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital Singapore on 26th December, where she took her last breath on 29 December. and ashes of the Delhi gang-rape victim Damini, was immersed in the river Ganga at Bharauli ghat here as hundreds of people, including women and children, bid adieu to the brave heart with teary eyes.
As of six men, including the bus driver, have been arrested. The incident has generated international coverage and was condemned by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, who called on the Government of India and the Government of Delhi "to do everything in their power to take up radical reforms, ensure justice and reach out with robust public services to make women’s lives more safe and secure”. Public protests took place in Delhi, where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces. Similar protests took place in major cities throughout the country.
But is this enough? My answer would be “No”,we should empower a strict law against such things. According to me perfect tribute to that brave girl (Damini) is to give all those 6 rapist must be hanged till death as life time imprisonment is not enough, and we should help each other in all the way we can. A salute to that brave girl from me, my pals and my family... "u r always in our heart and memories and we will not let your scarifies to be drown"
